Every SEO personal understands the need of Link Exchange Service Campaign. So, I will not waste time explaining the basics now. Here are a few things to take care of when building links, through the Link exchange campaign by mailing. These points will help in successful link building & will boost the sites performance in the SERP's.
o In a day, limit the number of mails to 4 or 5, no more than that.
o Search for the sites in search engines, place their link on the links page under an appropriate category, or, I suggest you to create a links page by the name "business links" & post their link on it, let them know that you have placed the link & link will be active for 4 days. Give the description of your website & ask them if they can add your link.
o You can get the details of other website when you visit the website. To Contact - Most of the websites have their email ID's as info (at) domain (dot) com but you can get the ID's from the contact us option in the website. Details For link posting - From the source code of the home page of the website, copy the Title & Description, make title the Anchor text & post the link & when you send a notification, ask for if any changes are required.
o I insist you to create a new ID for the link exchange purpose similar to somewhat like seo (at) domain (dot) com, two reasons for that are: - One, it give an attitude of a mail from a professional & genuine person related to website, mostly considered from the owner or any authorized person... like when anyone sees that the mail is generated from the domain ID of the website he knows that this is not posted as spam's & is not coming from a professional link builder, but from a website owner who is carrying on the campaign himself. Second, the ID's being used for link exchange are sometimes spammed by junk mails... So, it is better to create an ID particularly for LE purpose.
o It is always better to get a link from the PAGE having a PR, as these pages are frequently crawled.
o Do not link to a website which seems to be doubted in terms of the services it offers as some websites are meant only for link exchange, they will have a good PR but will be offering only OBL's & some content all over the website.
o Always check for the number of back links on the page from which you are to get a back link & also check that how relevant OBL (out bound link) are posted on the website. The OBL's should point only to the genuine websites related to the theme of the website offering a link, if you find any OBL which points to an irrelevant site, do not go for a link exchange with that website.
o Searching websites by keywords: To figure out the Global monthly visit for keywords to know which keyword is searched more, search with Google Ad words Keyword external tool & to get the information about specific keywords which are searched more & to find out the search volume in a specific region like in US or even in a state, search for Google Insight Tool... Sign in with a Google account on this tool to get better result views.
